Ester Topolarova is a student activist and scholar at Colby College, Waterville, ME. She has experience in campus activism and building coalitions, and is especially interested in activism regarding economic and climate justice. She organized 60 students from Colby to attend the People’s Climate March in NY City in 2014, is a member of 350CentralMaine, co-president of the Colby Alliance for Renewable Energy, and the Colby representative to Maine Students’ for Climate Justice, among other social justice organizations. In May 2014 she was awarded the Leslie M. Foster Prize for the first-year woman who – along with academic achievement – demonstrated the character and ideals most likely to benefit society. Originally from the Czech Republic, she has lived in Italy and is a third year student at Colby College, double majoring in Environmental Policy and Anthropology.
